Italian tennis legend Paolo Bertolucci thinks world No. 2 Alexander Zverev’s assertion on Jannik Sinner’s sport completely summed up how dominant the present world No. 1 is correct now in males’s tennis.

In Sunday’s Australian Open closing, the second-ranked German did not handle to even win a set as the highest seed claimed a 6-3 7-6 (4) 6-3 win to gather his third Grand Slam title.

For Sinner, it was his third Slam title for the reason that begin of 2024 – which suggests he has received two out of the final 5 Majors.

After the ultimate at Melbourne Park, Zverev just about stated that the 23-year-old does all the pieces higher than him so principally there wasn’t a lot he might do besides hope that the Italian would have a nasty day.

Since final summer season, the present world No. 1 has received the US Open and the Australian Open – the ATP Finals – the Masters occasions in Cincinnati and Shanghai.

“There is only one man in charge and the others are moving further and further away. A year later, Djokovic is less dangerous and no new face has appeared behind him,” former world No. 12 Bertolucci informed Italian media.

“Alexander himself said that Jannik was too strong and that there was nothing to be done. And if the world No. 2, who took three sets to zero, says that, then imagine the other players. The gap is very big.”

What precisely Zverev stated after shedding to Sinner?

After falling one win in need of turning into a Grand Slam champion for the third time, the 27-year-old appeared extraordinarily crushed and down.

And he did not conceal how he felt about the place his sport ranks in comparison with the Italian’s.

“As we speak he fully outplayed me. I’m serving higher than him, however that’s it. He does all the pieces else higher than me,” Zverev said.

“He strikes higher than me. He hits his forehand higher than me. He hits his backhand higher than me. He returns higher than me. He volleys higher than me.”
